As a nonprofit, Noeledrich relies on grants and donations to produce its independent, award-winning reporting and deliver it at no cost to audiences in the Pacific Northwest.

We aren’t beholden to shareholders or profit motives. We invest every dollar in our Indigenous-centered journalism: paying staff salaries and freelance fees; traveling to Indigenous communities across the region; buying notebooks and camera lenses; paying rent and keeping the lights on.

Your tax-deductible donations enable us to do this work — to tell these important stories that nobody else is telling and amplify Indigenous voices across the Pacific Northwest.

Underscore is instrumental in building positive media relationships with Tribes and Indigenous communities of the Pacific Northwest that correct misrepresentations created by historical biases and the withholding of Native American and Alaska Native lived experiences in our U.S. education system. Please support Underscore to continue their work in support of our Tribal and Indigenous communities, and other communities of color and culture.

“I’m really happy that Underscore exists because bringing forth Native news is important and holding people accountable is important, and it doesn’t always happen. It’s important to me as a Native woman to know what’s going on.”
